AGNT has appointed Leo Pareja as its new chief executive, signaling a leadership change for the global real estate firm as it intensifies its international expansion and deepens its commitment to artificial intelligence. The transition took effect on October 8, 2026, following a succession plan developed over several years. The company previously rebranded from eXp World Holdings to AGNT.
Pareja will now lead operations across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Asia Pacific, and South Africa, though the announcement did not address any potential adjustments to AGNT‘s Australian operations. He joined eXp Realty in 2022 as chief strategy officer before being named CEO of the brokerage in April 2024. During his tenure, he oversaw the acquisition of NextHome, a U.S. franchise network, which broadened the company’s business model beyond its original cloud-based brokerage focus.
Before joining eXp, Pareja co-founded property technology company Remine in 2016, serving as its chief executive and president until its acquisition by MLS Technology Holdings in 2021. Under his leadership, Remine’s platform grew to serve over one million real estate professionals across North America, demonstrating his ability to scale technology-driven solutions in the industry.
Glenn Sanford, who founded the company in 2009, will step down as CEO but continue as chairman of the board. In a statement, he acknowledged the transition as a natural progression after nearly two decades leading the organization. “Building this company from the ground up and watching our vision for a better, agent-centric model of real estate grow into the global, AI-native, multi-model platform it is today has been the privilege of my career,” Sanford noted.
He emphasized Pareja’s contributions to the company’s AI-driven strategy and agent-focused approach, calling him “instrumental in moving our model into the AI-native era.” Sanford will continue as chairman and a shareholder of the company he founded 17 years ago, retaining a role in its long-term strategic direction.
Pareja’s vision for AI-driven real estate
Pareja’s appointment shows AGNT’s ambition to strengthen its position as a multi-faceted real estate platform. The company operates eXp Realty, NextHome, FrameVR.io, and SUCCESS Enterprises, merging franchising with cloud-based tools. His immediate focus will be equipping agents with the necessary technology and infrastructure to remain competitive in an industry increasingly influenced by AI. The board, including vice chairman Randall Miles, framed the transition as part of a planned succession strategy, noting that the appointment was unanimously approved by the AGNT board and took effect on October 8, 2026. Miles highlighted Pareja’s “results-driven leadership” and deep understanding of the company’s agent-centric model.
Pareja stated his priority would be ensuring agents had access to the technology and business infrastructure needed to compete as artificial intelligence becomes more widely adopted across the industry. His professional background includes co-founding Remine, a property technology firm acquired by MLS Technology Holdings in 2021. Earlier in his career, he developed a high-performing residential sales team, bringing both brokerage expertise and technological innovation to his current role.
AGNT’s shift to multi-model real estate dominance
While at eXp, Pareja advanced initiatives like Revenos and improvements to eXp Solutions, alongside the acquisition of NextHome in May 2024. That transaction marked AGNT’s first entry into franchising, introducing a traditional model alongside its digital operations. The board framed the transition as part of a succession strategy developed over several years, with Miles emphasizing Pareja’s alignment with the company’s vision. The acquisition of NextHome also expanded AGNT’s reach beyond its cloud-based brokerage roots, reinforcing its multi-model approach.
