Nigerian cybersecurity firm Aeon has obtained $1 million in funding, with Terra Industries, which has raised $51.7 million in 2026, leading the investment round. Other participants in the round include Resilience17, founded by Flutterwave CEO Olugbenga Agboola, as well as DFS Labs, Kaleo Ventures, Seedstars, and Ajim Capital.

Enhancing cyber security in the Global South

Founded by engineers Samuel Ogbonyomi, Ben Eluan, and Alex Idowu, Aeon is building on their experience in developing cloud infrastructure products at PipeOps to focus on cyberdefence and digital sovereignty for critical infrastructure in the Global South. Before investing, Terra had already worked with Aeon, which had managed parts of Terra’s infrastructure. According to Ogbonyomi, Terra was a natural choice as the first partner when Aeon decided to develop its product fully.

The investment round brought together several familiar partners, including DFS Labs, Kaleo Ventures, and Resilience17, which often collaborate on such investments. Terra CEO Nathan Nwachuku explained that the partnership is based on a clear division of labor, with Terra handling physical security and Aeon focusing on digital operations. The goal is for Aeon’s platform to be used by banks, large corporations, governments, and militaries across the Global South for their cyber operations.
